Issue With Uploaded.to

Uploaded.to is not letting me manage my files. While its taking in my file, sorting is impossible. It's kinda... annoying. For now, UP will not contain a Yurumates file. If this continues, I'll stop using Uploaded.

Yurumates Chapter 4

Turns out I had some free time due to a lapse in schedule. Turns out its not always a bad thing. This time, its already the festive season for these ronin. While this has some small cultural references, the next chapter relies heavily with it. Right now, I'm trying to get some sense in it. With jokes relying only on Japanese culture, I'm tempted to skip it. I'll see what I can do.

And I'm back.

Due to my vacation, not only was I not scanlating, I wasn't reading manga either. Now I'm behind on the majority of my series. To make up for it, I won't have any releases this week; I'll be returning to school and catching up on manga. Once I'm done, the good stuff will come. On the other hand, because I was with my TL on the flight, I have a number of chapters translated. The completed ones are:

-Yurumates Ch. 4
-Yurumates Ch. 5
-A Channel Ch. 20
-Half of Yurumates Ch. 6

Vacation Soon

I'll have vacation soon putting things in a bind. Packing, planning, and other stuff really causes delays. However, my TL can probably finish up the translation of the Yurumates chapter. I'll do the rest when I get back.

A Channel Chapter 19 Page Correction

After playing Persona 3 Portable (grinding non-stop), I came to check any comments to see if there was anything noteworthy. Turns out there was one. 21383013543330 (how the heck do you remember that....) gave the translation for the missing title in page 6 of A Channel. I'd like to that him/her (?) for letting me produce a v2 of page 6. Instead of releasing a whole new version, the page will be at this link. This way it doesn't spoil any readers.

A Channel Chapter 19

A long hiatus, eh? Well I had relatives plus summer school which really put a stop to scanlating. When I wasn't working, I had to entertain them as guests. Now that it's over, there will be releases again! This is a fine chapter of A Channel with Tooru & Friends doing their best at a certain task. As in the previous post, I'll start up another Yurumates chapter and see what the other group does with this series (I am not dropping it).

Site Changes, A Bit on A Channel's Scanlation Future

If you've been checking lately (as if...) I've been playing with a bit of the site. We now have a banner of sorts and a Facebook page. At first I was against the idea of a group page because I could have decided to stop scanlating, but it seems I'm stable now. As for A Channel, there's 3 pages left. I'm gonna play a little cooler with the series from now on since it looks like J-Yutanpo wants to release the second tankoubon. I'm not dropping it but I'll start to release chapters after the second volume and the ones with colour in it if that happens (the release of the tankoubon was announced in the lastest chapter). Finally, if that does come to happen and I catch up with the A Channel releases, I'll probably try looking at Double J.

Megaupload Rejection

I'll make it short: MU is giving me an issue. So for now, I'm retiring it for Depositfiles. If MU works well with me again in the future, maybe I'll bring it back up.

Batoto Integration

We are now set up in Batoto! It took awhile since I got whisked to Niagara. Now Yurumates will be available to read there. Unfortunately, I will not upload A Channel there. I do not have my own version of vol. 1 or want to upload only the second part of the series on Batoto. Either I would have to remake the missing chapters or someone get J-Yutanpo to upload it. Only the future will tell.

Yurumates Chapter 1

Pretty late night now. I bribed my TL to translate chapter 1 for me. While it was done before, I'm starting to put Yurumates on Batoto now. Now with Yurumates outta the way for now, I can start working on A Channel only again (once I find a break from summer school). Download links are... you know where.

Yurumates Chapter 3

Finally, I'm done. Never thought summer school could make 6 pages so hard. In other news, Yurumates is getting adapted into another video. Google it now and you'll find a PV (or something like that) easily.

I'll be releasing some A Channel or redoing Yurumates c1 next so keep an eye out on that. I might also start using Batoto. Download links are in the project page as expected.

Summer School (the dread!)

Well, tomorrow's the start of a new challenge for me. As the title says, I have summer school. (Before you ask, it ain't cuz I failed something.) I don't plan on stopping releases, but speed is gonna go down a lot. For good news, I have about 3 pages left of Yurumate's third chapter before I start working on A Channel again. My next post will be when it's out.

Yurumates Chapter 2

I'll be blunt with you: this ain't a great chapter. I find most the jokes "off", "vague", or need the knowledge of Japanese habits. Luckily, the next chapter is better. For those who want to skip ahead, google the OVA (it follows the manga exactly). I'll probably do one more chapter of Yurumates before releasing some A Channel. When summer school hits (or I get a PS3), it'll be harder to push releases.

I should also mention, the quality will drop in Yurumates. I consider this a side-project, second to A Channel. The time spent working on this series won't be as much as my main project.

Changing of Download Links

I decided to reduce the number of links on this site and used the method xscansx employs. On the download page will be a link to the online folder instead of a direct link. This way I don't have to post a new link each time I release a new chapter. Also, I decided to shun HF, I prefer MU and UP now. If you guys prefer other file hosters, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

A Channel Chapter 18

Thank summer. With nothing to do, I can push out releases faster than I expected. Unfortunately, my translator got a job out of the country (now I only see him on weekends), so I had to find a new one. The new one isn't as good at English forcing me to guess half of the words so TL quality is gonna drop. Enjoy the release.

A Channel Chapter 17 v2

I made some changes to the original chapter from the suggestions I got from Dodge Stratus. I thank him for the help for this higher quality chapter. While no "major" edits were made, I fixed up some typos, erased the words on the borders, and used a new font (DigitalStrip instead of Sans). Depending on the reception, I might use this format for further chapters of A Channel. For the download link, check the project page.

Possible Drop

Its not confirmed yet but I might be dropping Yu-Yuru. It's not as fun to translate as A Channel and not many raws (I only have up to ch. 5 where in A Channel I have up to ch. 29).

Project Line-up!

I finally established a project line-up that I will be following. I will be doing two series:

A Channel
Yu-yuru Shikkoubu

I will picking up A Channel where it was left off but for Yu-yuru Shikkoubu I will be starting from chapter 1. Chapter 1 of Yu-yuru might be released later today.

Birth!

Hello everyone!

This is the birth of Primitive Scans! We are a new scanlation group dedicated to released english manga! I am the only staff member (and will forever be the only member) so expect bad translations, long gaps between releases, and questionable raws. Our first project will the the remaining parts of A Channel that have yet to be scanlated. Unfortunately, I can only use chinese raws so I don't think catching up to the actual japanese releases will be possible (unless some rich chinese otaku does some cool tricks). Chapter 17 should be up within the next two weeks so see you until then!
